At least, that's what I'm doing. Ohhhhh yes.
You see, I'm kind of a Robin Hood freak. Fan isn't a strong enough word.
Once when I was shopping with my mom, she noted that I held Robin's fashion sense in high esteem, seeing that the only clothes I would so much as look at had to be green or brown.
Technically, the "Maid Marian" blogger event is only this weekend. But I'm such a fan of dear old Nottingham that I decided to make a week of it. Prepare yourself for my favorite Robin Hood related clothes, art, music, stories, poems, quotes....
I even changed my header, taking it from one of my Marian pictures. That's Chester and me... you'll see more of my Maid Marian pictures later this week... =D
By the way, both the Walnut~Heart photo and the header photo are by Kei over at Looking through the Lense. Doesn't she do an amazing job?
The Walnut~Heart is half a walnut shell I found on our property. The heart is there on every walnut shell. I thought it was apt for Maid Marian!

Robin Hood is pretty cool. I'm looking forward to your contributions to the "EVENT." I've got just a couple of things to post, a story and a costume.
There's really only one thing I don't like about the Robin Hood stories. Some people consider him the epitome of liberalism, which I abhor. Blah. I never thought of it that way until my dad pointed out that he's always "taking from the rich and giving to the poor," which is EXACTLY what liberalism and (in a more extreme sense) Communism do. I console myself by saying that it's more like the American Revolution-- Robin and his men are resisting a government gone bad. What do you think?
Well, one of the things I like about BBC's Robin Hood, is that in that version, Robin Hood isn't so much about "steal from the rich, give to the poor", but "take money from the sadistic, evil villains and give it BACK to the poor"! ;) So in that way, BBC's version is better than the traditional portrayal.
And yay for Maid Marian weekend!! I'm still working on my costume....
