My thinking cap is on...

I'm writing a novel this year for English. Have any ideas you'd care to share? Usually I'm teeming with them, but right now I feel brain-dead.

I'll still be writing away on my Marion story.

Anyway, QUITE EXCITED! I've got to come up with my final answer by tomorrow. I'm not totally desperate- I have a few ideas swirling around in my head. Bees in my bonnet, Libby would say.

Your brainstorming Bracie

How 'bout a war-elephant troop commander (hereafter referred to as a WETC) in ancient Ethiopia. Obviously, as a WETC, he would have to be moody and philosophical, but a swashbuckler nonetheless. Could be Greek or Roman, and got left there by some mistake, the idea being to "win his spurs" before returning to normal life as the son of a great general and the student of Plato or Aristotle. Or Publius, for that matter. Or maybe he decides to bop on over from Italy, to pay a visit to his uncle, who was banished to Ethiopia. I'll keep thinking...---P

Or this one (gleaned from a random facts page):

1918 Attempting to dodge German gunfire, a Canadian pilot named Makepiece went into a sharp nose dive. In the process his passenger, Capt. J. H. Sedley, fell out of the plane. When Makepiece leveled off several hundred feet below, the free-falling Sedley miraculously landed on the tail of the airplane, apparently drawn there by the downdraft of the plummeting aircraft. Sedley clung to the tail, then clambered into his seat, unharmed. Ultimately the plane landed safely behind Allied lines.

I love writing novels!

Have you heard of National Novel Writing Month? It's coming up soon (in November). I've written all my novels during NaNoWriMo (the abbreviation for said event).

If you haven't heard of it before, check it out! www.nanowrimo.org (The website may go down soon, being relaunched)

Anyway, I'm sure you'll come up with something awesome... But if you need more help, check out the Snowflake Method for planning/writing a novel. (google Snowflake Method, and you'll see it)

Hope that helps! Have fun!

Hi - Bracie? This is Nai from the OYAN forum. I just went bonkers when I found out you're writing a Robin Hood. That's what I did last year.

Yes...I'm being a little free on here. But OYAN is awesome and I can't wait to read your book!
