I slithered through the sage-brush, finally putting to use the army-crawl my vigrous training had forced me to practice. Hearing the dry cracking of a twig, I whipped my head around, re-ajusting my position so that I could view my new target. But my opponent spotted my and----charged first! I stopped a moment to take a few shots at him with my rifle but then turned and fled. I'd caught a glimpse of his gun. As it had a laser sight, I wasn't about to stick around. Even Miley Cyrus could make a decent shot with a gun if it had one of those red lasers.
But I was too slow. A quick zing of pain burst through the back of my leg, right behind the knee.
"Hit," I groaned.
Of course, any pain I might have been feeling vanished mere seconds after the shot. I watced the plastic BB roll through the grass. Yes, folks, this is an AirSoft war and not another one of Bracie's overly dramatic short stories.
I had fun. I came home with a horrid head-ache, red welts, a bee sting that at this moment is swelling my knuckles so much that it is difficult to type, and a new batch of scratches and gashes on my legs. Bliss.
This war was in honor of my cousin and dear friend’s 16th birthday. Happy 16th, Audrey!
