Sigh.

I feel a sort of a desperation to wear this dress right now.

That is all.

Whimsy

This one definitely wins the whimsy award.

[I had it on the below post, but blogger dropped it, for some reason, along with the captions I wrote under each treehouse]

If Hobbits weren't scared of heights....

Life goal no. 1: Live in a tree house.

From my novel: In my Sherwood forest, the outlaws' hideout is atop a giant oak. Marion has to majorly build her upper arm strength for the daily rope climb and is aided by natural hand holds: shelf fungi.

If you are a person (I'm assuming that most of you are) what does your dream house look like?

If you are a writer, how do your favorite hideaways show up in your works?

^ This one looks like a good ole hideout.

A tree house, a free house,
A secret you and me house,
A high up in the leafy branches
Cozy as can be house
A street house, a neat house,
Be sure and wipe your feet
house
Is not my kind of house at all.
Let's go live in a tree house.
Shel Silverstein

Below: Very Medieval, yes?

Lately I've been dwelling on these dwellings (Ha! How's that for a LAME pun/thing, QUIP?) and I decided to share them a bit.
In ten years, you can find me in my tree house.

Yes; I'll shamelessly promote you...

One of Tay's Amigurumis>

... I just have to find your blog first.

I randomly clicked on one of my followers, whose profile was "TAY."

It's pretty intriguing. READ:

About me
HEY, I'm Tay! I'm homeschooled and I wear WAY to much eyeliner ;) I am proud to be a christian! and I have 3 younger siblings! I'm pretty much the original scene type person with all these crazy, random skills; and I guarantee you'll never EVER find another like me. if I couldn't write or listen to music, my head would totally blow off :D I really like the words "Fearless" and "epic" and I have no idea why. the color purple is amazing!I really, really, really DON"T like Taylor swift. My dream is to publish books and to hug an Amish person...so yeah...? This is blog about all the crazy random stuff that happens to me, or all the crazy stuff I make. So please feel free to follow and comment! Enjoy Fearless! ~TAY

She sounds like a spunky person, yes? So I visited her blog, FEARLESS and poked around. I thought you might have fun doing the same thing. She crochets or knits or something these adorable little animals called amigurumi. I'm afraid I'll horrifically bad at handiworks like that... but I'm very good at appreciating them. Her URL is something about being an art frreak, which also intrigued me. You all know how much I love art. =D

I love people with spice. Thanks for having spice, Tay.

And for all the rest of you: hey! Follow me! I might think you're super cool!

I'm all ears no. 2

I couldn't resist posting a few more of my Qutewear favorites: Siamese cat, Fox, and Bear. They look so comfy, too!
I see you all rolling your eyes. Alright! I'll stop obsessing if you make me.

I'm all ears.

^Qutewear hat

Is this amazing or what? And $15 bucks! This one is going on my 17th birthday wishlist. I'm not a big anime/manga fan, but my favorite manga characters have always been the ones with fox/kitty ears. I'd love to wear one snowboarding. Fills me with plummy feelings just thinking about it.
The whole line of hats is splendid! You should go check it out at Qutewear's PAGE on Zibbet.
Your buddy back at blogging,
Gray

For ye who are gifted with film:

I have this thing with photos.

I can't take them.

My younger sister Ava is 5 years old and her photography skills far exceed my own.

Give me a paintbrush or a extra soft lead #4 sketch pencil and I'm fine. But a camera? Watch me run.

My incompetence with a camera contrasts sharply with Kei's amazing adeptness and this isn't to say that I don't appreciate photography! I'm an avid photography-enjoyer- (?).

Which is why I am so excited about the blogger event going on at Looking Through the Lens. Hey! Those of you who are more talented with shutter speeds and such than I, I encourage you, extol you to go check out Kei's contest at Looking Through the Lens...

Check it out HERE and spread the word!

Happy photography! And for me? I'll just sit back and watch... =D

Ah!

A great chicken photo taken by Ava^

A great Milo photo also taken by Ava (note chicken in background).

Dad untangling Christmas lights...

Ophie examining a caterpillar... and with her "Caterpillar" gloves on too!

Too many pictures of Bracie! Maid Marian is marvelous.... but really, Grace?
So I posted these for ya'll...
Mom, Charlie, we need more pictures of you two.

And dressed in pretty forest plight #3 ~Details~

A few small details that Ophie managed to capture with our poor-quality camera.. And I promise, no more Marian pictures after this!

The truth of it is, we big teenagers just want an excuse to dress up like we did when we were little girls. Remember? I had sooo many princess dresses... those plastic high heels... tiaras...

As I get older, I begin to look for a "reason" to enter that magical world that was mine as a wee thing. So yes, a Maid Marian photo shoot is the "perfect opportunity."

But does it have to be a photo shoot? On one of the days of what I've dubbed 'Greenwood Week,' Ophie and I dressed up in our "pretty forest plight " (quoting Reynolds again! I'm obsessed with that poem!) only to find that our camera wasn't working properly. 'Twas out of batteries or something like.

Then Ophie said, "You know, Grace, the point is not that we were going to take pictures, but that we're dressed up like Maid Marian!"

Exactly. We then proceeded to let our doggies loose for an autumn jaunt... Is there anything more marvelous than running through the wind?

But before the batteries died completely, I managed to get some shots in which Ophie, as usual, looks completely gorgeous... (Okay, now she's going to kill me!!)

I'll be quiet now and show you these [very last] pictures.
My neat-o leather braid head-band...
I know I'm not smiling! 'Tis not my favorite picture either! But it was the only picture that showed the braid... actually there was one more... but that one was reeeeally freaky.... ask Ophie.

My lily-pad leaf necklace... a souvenir from my great trip to South Carolina for Speech Nats. Mom and I had so much fun together---and she bought and gave me this necklace while we were there. I love it so...

I wrote earlier about my 'field bag'... well, here's another potential candidate....

The buckle side ^...
And of course Kei managed to take several stunning detail shots, posted below...
I love having friends who are photographers... thanks, Kei... =D
