"A pleasing landscape"

Road trip:

A pleasing landscape, I think to myself as we zip past the symetrical rows of trees coming up perpendicularly from the ground in a straight line across the horizon. Linear perfection in nature. Very pleasing on the eyes.

I don't like my beauty to please me, though. I like it to disturb me and make me catch my breath.

Rugged. I like the beauty and ruggedness of it all to shock me and whirl my soul around, giving me whiplash inside.

I know this Beauty you speak of. It almost hurts one, to look on it. It is enthralling, stirring, a glimpse of something altogether greater. And it is painfully real.

This is a beautiful piece of writing. Thank you for sharing. ^.^
